Lesson 2: Navigating Google Drive
Navigating Google Drive
Google Drive is Google Workspace’s storage service where you can store all your files, including documents, photos, videos, spreadsheets, and more.
One of the many benefits of using Google Drive to store your files is that you can store less stuff on your computer’s harddrive. And because they’re stored on the cloud you can access your files anywhere as long as you have access to the internet. Google Drive is compatible with both Macs and PCs, so you’ll be able to use it no matter what device you’re using, too.
Google Drive gives you 15 gigabytes of free storage space for all sorts of files, including emails. For most people, that’s plenty of space, but if you need more storage, you can buy it right through Google at a relatively low cost.
Understanding files in Google Drive
You can easily create folders to store your files so you can find them quickly. Let’s say you get an attachment in an email. You can save it directly to Google Drive instead of downloading it to your device, freeing up valuable storage space and filing it where you can find the attachment again. As you get more and more stored on your drive, this feature is helpful for keeping everything organized and accessible.
